I am working on a computer that is running win 98, and the fellow says
that it will not shut down. I am sure that I have seen something on this
problem in win 98 somewhere. If one of you MVP's could direct me to the fix
I would appreciate it. I did not see anything about this in ...

my problem is widows will not startup at all. When i try
to open to safe mode i go through initial opening stages

I have several Win 98 machines setup in a workgroup.
I have downloaded Poledit.exe and created my policies. They
aren't taking effect or, are not being run for some reason.

I think there's something wrong with my puter, every time

Does anyone know of a good fax program for Win 98 that's free and converts
the faxes into TIFF G4 format like the fax program that comes with Win2k?

When attempting to delete files or folders, I get the
illegal operation message and the screen reverts back to
the desktop. Every time. Any ideas? The garbage is piling
up fast. TIA.

Formatted my hard drive and reinstalled Windows 98. Now
monitor display is too large and pictures are out of
color. I went to desktop properties, then to settings and
saw that my 256 color and 32 bit color were gone. How do

Can you install 98 over 95 without losing your program
files? I was under the impression it only installed
windows, not wiped the whole harddrive clean.

A friend's PC will not boot up. Instead, she is getting a message: "Bad
command or file name. VMM32.VXD is required to run windows. If this file
is not in your path, you may need to reinstall windows."
