It used to be I would hit the tab key and I would be taken
to the next field, now I hit it and it's like I've hit
alt+tab, I am taken to the next window I have open.  How
did this happen?  How do I change it back?

I previously posted in regards to a problem playing MP3 files, but
since the problem seems to be beyond that of the original post, I'm
posting anew.
Basically, my PC with Win98SE has become quite flaky.  At first it

I saw that some programs on my laptop were freezing up and
when I ctrl+alt+Deleted, I saw a program that wasn't
responding. I shut this off and everything started to work
correctly. The file was called Wnsintsv. What is this ? I

The clock on my Win98 machine is way out, losing about 3hrs./day. I presume
the on-board battery needs replacing as the machine is about 8 years old.
But where is it likely to be and what will it look like? There are no
insts.nor any mention of 'battery' in the info. that came with ...

I am getting an error
"ScanDisk" has restarted 10 times because windows or
another program has beeen writing to this drive.  Quitting
some running programs may enable ScanDisk to finish

I am going to add a second hard drive to my PC I will be upgrading to
256mb memory as well. I have been advised to move the swap file to a
separate partition on the second drive. What would be the best size for
the partition for the swap file?

At various time I get a Windows Icon on desktop and the
file name is  ~ with no ext.  The file is always 201kb
and can be deleted.  Cannot open it witn any program.

Anytime I try to open anything in my control panel, I
get "Access Denied", Same with the properties of my
desktop. Anyone know how to fix this???

When asking for support why doesn't Microsoft recognize
the Product ID that is currently on my system???  It came
from Dell and has "OEM" in the number.  Is this causing
the problem?

Friday night my computer worked fine.
Saturday morning it's hosed! None of my preferences are remembered and
some of my startup programs are not starting.
I think the problem is in the registry, but here's the strange part:
