I am trying to reformat the hard drive and reload my Win98. I put in the startup disk and boot up but windows just loads as normal.I have ticked the ' search for floppy disk' box in settings. The floppy drive seems to work OK

I'M GETTING A "GENERAL PROTECTION ERROR" AT START UP. I RESTART AND IT GOES TO SAFE MODE, THEN ANOTHER RESTART & EVERYTHING SEEMS FINE UNTIL I NEED TO REBOOT AGAIN. SOMETHING MUST BE WRONG, BUT WHAT? ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.
