I need to install a new hard drive and don't have the
original Windows 98 disk.  I can't upgrade (48 MB RAM and
233 processor) and I can't buy 98 anywhere.  Any
suggestions?

I downloaded dx90update_redist.exe and tried to install that on my custom
system (Albatron kx600-8xv, AMD Barton, 512MB RAM) with Windows 98SE.
The installation program created an internal error:

I have one machine that will not allow me to change date/time in Win98 it
reverts right back to the previous settings after hitting Apply.   Even more
puzzling is the same symptom can be found when changing the date/time in the
BIOS.

popping up with new Program Alerts.  Telling me that

whilst trying to install Norton System works, the
computer told me to restart, i did so, and now it will
not reboot. it says Windows needs re-installing but then

On boot up this error comes on a dos black screen and
hangs and will not go no further.   Any ideas.  I have
searched the microsoft knowledge base and find nothing
specific.  Additionally, before this problem I found that
