trying to open a downloaded file it locked into wordpad
and I can't change it can someone suggest how I can view
that window again???

After i installed one of the windows update and restarted
the window, at every start up the window would give me 4
error messages saying "Memory access violation at module
kernel32 XXX:XXXXXX". If i press on the "ok" buttons, the

i am use to working in windows xp and i have this old
computer with windows 98. I just want to reformat the old
computer with windows 98 on it--how do i do this.  I
thought it would just be intuitive but it is not.

If I install W98se to a 120 gb hard drive and then install
many applications over the entire drive until the drive is
filled-up, could files and folders read during boot-up be
spread over most of the drive so that the drive head would

Lately the last thing I see on my monitor while shutting
down Windows 98 is the normal black screen but with a
large rectangular blue window with the words "out of
range". Immediately afterwards everything shuts off as

Set display settings to their highest point.  Getting error that says "input signals are over range.  Check signal source."  OS is windows 98.  This error prevents me from going to display to change settings back to a lower number.  Thanks in advance.

Does anyone know if there is a registry tweak in Windows 98 that will hide
the configuration tab in the Network properties?

Minor annoyance at worst, when I open My Computer from the
desktop, and then click on any icon in this window, the My
Computer window immediately closes. I can open the same
folders by using Windows Explorer, but when I close the

When i try to open my msconfig file it closes after about
3 seconds. I am guessing there is a start-up setting i
need to get to, but i can't. I have tried Ad-Aware and my
basic Vrius scan, but nothing seems to work.

This is a weird one, and a new one on me. While trying to figure out why
my wife's PC is no longer getting her internet access (through my PC via
Sygate Home Network), I started having a problem on my own.

Help,
My windows program will not shut dow properly. When I go
to start and select shut down the window 98 screen comes
on and say it is shutting down but will not shut down.
