Set display settings to their highest point. Getting error that says "input signals are over range. Check signal source." OS is windows 98. This error prevents me from going to display to change settings back to a lower number. Thanks in advance.

When i try to open my msconfig file it closes after about 3 seconds. I am guessing there is a start-up setting i need to get to, but i can't. I have tried Ad-Aware and my basic Vrius scan, but nothing seems to work.
