I am having trouble establishing a new MSN account on a PC running Windows 98. After I run Wizard to setup the account,and choose MSN, there is no desk top icon to continue the process.

On boot, Win98 tells me that I need: vshinit.vxd (windows\system) cmapieng.vxd (program files\cybermedia) I couldn't find them on support.microsoft.com drivers

I had windows 98 and updated to 98SE. Download the shutdown update, but it still gets hung up sometimes. Then I have to reboot and go through scan disk. Then shutdown again. Is there any thing else to resolve this

I have the problem that all of my file attributes seem to be read only or archive. I've looked everywhere trying to figure out how stop this happening - but no luck. Any suggestions would really be appreciated.
