I'm using Windows 98 on a Pentium III machine with
Explorer and Outlook Express both version 6.0. I keep on
getting a pair of messages saying that a couple of
required .DLL files are missing, DNSAPI.DLL and

I've just installed a new hard drive in my notebook PC and re-installed
Win98SE and IE 6, followed by the Windows Security Update CD. After
re-installing Office 2000, I have been unable to install the SR-1a
Service Release; instead, I have been getting a "2318: internal error",

I have run scandisk, and virus scan -- all was ok.  Have boot98.exe floppy.
The only CD I have is the COMPAQ rescue CD that will wipe out all files.
1) Is this the appropriate group to be in for this problem?
2)  Would someone please explain to me, step-by-step, how to hook up the

I was trying to upgrade Windows 98 SE to Windows XP Pro. The installation gets stuck after the computer reboots for the first time. I get a message on the screen that says; Pls insert the CD labled Windows XP Pro in your CD-Rom drive and press enter to continue, or F3 to abort

I have an IBM USB 2.0 32MB Memory Key (part number 22P9026) that works
just fine on my Win XP laptop and on a Win XP desktop. I also want to
use it on a Win 98 machine, and for that I need a device driver (the
device came without a Win 98 device driver).

I have a spare older computer with Win 98, it is not
performing very well, and the A Drive (floppy) does not
work at all.  I was told to try to reformat the whole

When I click on the detail view using windows explorer,
all files disappear. This happened before and the
correction is fairly simple but I forget what it is. Some
soimple combination of key strokes. Any help appreciated.

I am trying to download java software, but get a message
from java saying they can't do it. I deleted java from
windows by mistake  They say there is a problem but not
what the problem is. Any help would be appreciated.

When 98 is started in safe mode the next regular start removes the AUTO
HIDE on the task bar.
What is the reason for this?
Is there an over ride if there is no real reason for this.
