my computer hangs everytime i shut it down.it just shows the "shutdown
wait" screen.please help!

As I'm starting my computer and the desktop appears, an
error that says rundll32 appears.  I'm able to close the
error message, but I'm sure, sooner or later, something's
gonna happen.  I have to write six papers by next week.

When I reboot or start up from a shutdown, the screen
flashes the DELL logo about 5 or 6 times really fast
before it makes the beep then starts windows.  Is there
something that I can do to stop this.

I had the url to this site that someone posted before in this group
but I can't find it now. It's a website that explained what each
application running in Win98 does. They were listed alphabetically.
It was a very good and informative site. Does this ring a bell with

I already posted this problem on tuesday, but hadn't any
chance to check if somebody wrote a solution.
So again, I just reinstalled windows 98 on my laptop,
everything is working perfect except that the computer is

Would like to know how to uninstall directX 9.0.
My video card does not support this version and my PGA2000
game will not operate.  It operates on directX 7.0 and now

I went to Control Panel to check for sound configuration
and Multimedia and Sound will not even open!  I got this
error message when trying to adjust audio properies:

I have tried several times to do the windows update for
windows 98se. Each time it stalls in the last few minutes
of the download process and never gets to the install. I
have deleted all items except one to see if it has too

My problem is this: there is a text document that keeps
appearing on my desktop.  I have tried saving it as My
Document, but it still keeps appearing. I tried saving it
to a disk, and then deleting it. It appears again. I

Are there any security features that would prevent me from

Im running win 98se and every once in a while the computer
will freeze for about 5-10 seconds then return to normal.
Even if im not running anything and im just moving the
mouse on the desktop it will do it. Sometimes but not as

when I boot my computer...I get "the file refered to in
registry is missing.  If I deleted it on purpose..try
reinstalling program....etc..etc..
How do I repair this.  I dont know what program was deleted
