Fatal exception OE errors in Windows 98 SE24 May 2004 21:15 GMT2
I started getting these a few days back, one when Windows is loading is: fatal exception OE occured at 0028:00000017
I noticed a different one yesterday that read:  fatal exception OE occured at 028:C0006F22 VXD:VMM(01) + 00005F22 (I think I was in MS explorer when I got this one)

I have win98  OS. Every keyboard character that I enter
comes out wrong. When I click on word shortcut Icon I get
the Help files. When I go to the Internet and try to type
in a web address via the address bar the key I type in are

98se starts and when it gets to desk top C:\ window opens on desk top. How

I am getting a similar message to Jim.  I can't get mine
to close either.  Here's how mine reads.
This program has performed an illegal operation and will
be shut down.  If the problem persiss, please contact the

Hi! My CD player on my Compaq Presario 7470 running
Windows 98SE keeps clicking like its trying to run a cd,
when this happens, the computer freezes up. What is

I am working on my friend's PC, which is a packard Bell
with windows 98 installed on it.
When I play cd's (music) on her pc, the music sounds just
fine and is using a tool named "musicmatch jukebox".

patch.  I have installed this patch numerous times but the

My display has lines through it and is blurry, but only
after it goes to screensaver (timeout?).  When restored
after timeout, pages scroll at an angle and everything
gets a trail.  This happened after I reinstalled Windows
