Win 98-edit msconfig/unhide files20 May 2004 06:00 GMT3
 I have stuff in msconfig/startup that is bad stuff that
is in hidden files.  I have unchecked it, but want to edit
it out.  I also want to unhide the file and delete it.  I
have run Norton, and Ad-ware, but neither one picks this

Hello, i'm am experiencing issues with Windows 98 SE and
my screensavers. With any screen saver i select and then
let it run, i will come back and move the mouse and it
says "Screen Saver" as one of the items in the taskbar but

Like others, I cant find my original 600x800 setting
displays which i had originally. I reloaded windows 98
but the 480x640 still is the only choice offered. Please

Without my changing any settings in Display, the opening desktop icons
have been has been rearranging themselves.  Along with this unwanted
behavior, the color and pixel settings also change.  I find that if I

Under Window98 (or 98SE), when I am deleting a large
number (say 100) of files, my system freezes for a while
(~20 seconds). In other words, it does not allow me to
continue to work on another application or window. I have

can i just copy the se over the original without having to
format the whole thing, when i try it keeps saying that

Did Scanreg /restore  a week or so ago,(around the 5th. of May,2004)
trying to correct some problems,
(it worked BTY) But I understand Scanreg /restore  only goes back or
saves the last 5 start up's.

I have 2 sets of speakers thet work on other computers but
do not work on this one run by windows 98. I hear the
words in the background but their is a high distortion

I typed in a password last nite - thinking that it was a
good thing?! - and now can't remember what I typed!  DUH!  
Does anyone know how to override the passwords if one

dialog box - red circle with a white X - with the
words, "This program has performed an illegal operation
