I use Windows 98 second edition and whenever I open up a folder, the dial up connection window pops up turning on the modem. Is there a way that I can disable the modem from turning on everytime that I open a folder? Thanks in advance for any help.

I can't seem to open up more than one folder level on my desktop, for instance...if I open my computer, I can't open anything INSIDE my computer. this is also true of IE6. If a link opens another window, my computer just freezes up.
