I seem to be having trouble retaining high colour rendition of my icons.  My
desktop settings are for 32 bit colour and my desktop wallpaper & program
windows are rendered correctly but my icons are frequently downgraded to 256
colour renditions ( very poor if not 256 colour) which ...

When I go to shutdown my computer and the shutdown dialog box pops up (

I have recently started having problems with my computer

I have a win 98SE  pc fully patched, but for some reason after the windows
login screen comes up, calc.exe starts. I have looked in the startup group,
autoexec, and dosstart.bat files, and all registry keys dealing with loading
apps, even searched the registry for "calc.exe".

For some unknown reason my taskbar is about twice the size it should be.

If you're out there Lucky S. I found KONTIKI. It is a
company listed under 3rd party plugins on ADOBE.I found it
while updating ADOBE READER. How it got to me is still

Stuck on safe mode,how to get off safe mode ?

I have a windows 98 machine that is running a scandisk on
bootup.  It stalls at 20% and PC needs to be rebooted.
Can't exit from scandisk either.  Can I work around this?

Somehow I believe I have moved/deleted/renamed ??? the folder which opens a
program on boot.  What is the correct folder name and where should it be
placed.

Don't know whether this fits the category, but recycle bin
disappeared from my desktop and can't find it. Probably
loaded with things I can delete but hidden somewhere using
