All of a sudden, all of my temp files have been placed in the root windows directory. I never had a variable setting in autoexec to begin with and before a couple days ago, all print spools, installs etc that used the temp directory got deposited in windows\temp. Now they are

I think I recall reading someone posting that the /MBR switch on FDISK not only rewrites the master boot record, but also wipes out partition table data, so that if you use /MBR on a disk with multiple partitions on it, you lose the partition data. Is this true?

In MS config there is the selectable option "System Tray" (SysTray.Exe). Whether it's selected or not seems to make no difference in the operation or performance of my computer (that I could discern, at least). Should this feature be enabled, or does it matter?

All the icons: Network, Printer, Display, etc. will launch on a double click. Shutdown has the same thing. Cntl Alt Del -> shutdown does shut it down. HELP
