Since networking my laptop(XP) to my desktop(98SE) with great help from

When I uninstalled Iomega HotBurn software, after a reboot Windows
reinstalled about 20 drivers.  The one for the video card or montior is
not correct.  I am stuck at 16 colors with a resolution of 640x480.

The read speed on my CD/DVD was set at device default from the factory.  I
was tinkering around and changed it to 4x.  I can change it back to device
default, but as soon as I hit the apply button, it jumps back to 4x.  Any
help is appreciated.

I have Win 98 and downloaded the "Microsoft WinXP Upgrade Advisor". When it
scans the system files it stops at "DVD Movie Player" I don't have a DVD
Movie Player"
I've tried three times with the same result.Hope you can help as I would
