I gave my brother my old Windows 98 PC. It has a Matrox Millenium
video card and the Matrox Powerdesk software. Somehow (he is
definitely not computer literate) he has done something with the
Powerdesk settings that make me think he has turned on the multiple

I'm able to setup user accounts successfully so when the
new user logs in their desktop & start menu are limited,
and the My Documents folder is empty. However, Windows
Explorer stills shows all files and doesn't limit access,

Windows (98) boots, I get a logon screen, I can logon,
but once I get to the desktop, I can't do anything. No
taskbar, no icons, nada. Just the background. Windows
button on keyboard does nothing. The only thing that

I recently ran a trial version one of these registry cleaning software
programs and deleted what I thought were "safe" files.  Then not thinking, I
uninstalled the cleaning program.  I then tried to reboot and got an error
stating "himem.sys is missing".  What do i do now?  I do not ...

I have two things I don't understand (other than women).
Number one-I had to delete two users and reinstall them to
get rid of some unused apps. When I reinstalled them they
both picked up a folder called KONTIKI.(?) Number two when

To those who helped me yesterday...
Not new to computers, I run my Norton AV twice a week
(getting updates first) and have had Ad-Aware 6.0 on my
machine for months. I run Ad-Aware about once a week, too.

when I arrange icons in my computer or windows explorer
the drive letters and names apear in reverse order. ( I:

Show pop-up description for folder and desktop items
checked in Windoes Explorer Folder Options and all
registry settings are correct, but they show only for
WinZip files.  Has anyone exerienced this please?

Does anybody have a suggestion as to the availablity of a
viewer for Power Point 2003 for Windows 98 ? The Microsoft
site offers a viewer - but it only works for Microsoft 98
second edition !!!!

Accidently created new folder.  It pops up upon reboot.  How do I stop this?

I have bought a new (used) computer and want to know if there is any way to find out if it was ever used to view pornographic web sites or has any objectional content on it.  When I go to the IE (6SP1) History tool bar, it only has "Today" listed.  Is there anyway to go further ...

I upgraded from Windows 95 to Windows 98 Se, and at boot I
get the Windows 95 Screen.
Does anyone know how to correct this so that the Windows
98 screen displays?

I have 2 drives, a burner and a standard. Sudenly I cannot
see the burner in MY COMPUTER and cannot read fom the
other one.  Any ideas??

I was looked through Windows Explorer and noticed I have a
new folder called WINDOWS000 in C drive.  I didn't create
this folder, so my computer must have created it.  The
folder contains no files but one folder called Temp.  The
