What exactly is a Windows protection error and how do you
correct the problem? I'm running W98 and all of a sudden,
while booting up up it then reads, "Windows protection
error, you will need to resatart your machine". I wasn't

   I uninstalled some applications a bit ago using
Add/Remove programs.  Since then, when I try to start
various applications that I didn't uninstall (examples
include Adobe Acrobat and WinAmp), I get the error message:

I have desktop icons for both Win98 FreeCell & Solitaire, but if I click on
them I get "An error has occured in your program" with "Close" and "Ignore"
