Can anyone help me out here?  My computer won't start.  I
boot it up and it gives me the C:\  I type in dir and get
a bunch of directories.  After those is a list of 4.  One
is called win386 and the number next to it is

when im using my comp.i keep getting a message"prepare for
standby mode"my screen goes off then comes on when i move

My PC works fine on every level that I can think of except it won't play DVD
movies.  I've tried both Intervideo WinDVD 6 and Cyberlink PowerDVD 5 with
no joy.  The computer has been able to play movies in the past but there
seems to be something missing now.  PowerDVD wouldn't even ...

I intend to network a Windows XP notebook & a W98 SE
desktop.  It appears that a virus has damaged my W98 SE

Can anyone tell me how to prevent the system time from
being changed?  I run a timeclock software program on my
office computer for employee time keeping and want to

We had a GEO disk on our Desktop. It was sent to us about
a year ago through the discussion groups. We had had

Windows 98 shutdown after installing McAffee Virus scan.
It kept rebooting many times, but windows would not load.
I've tried my to start Windows 98 from my backup disk, but
it always starts in DOS & I don't know the DOS commands.

I have Windows 98SE and my system clock displays in
military time.  I have gone into control panel settings
and changed it many times, but it changes back to military
time on reboot.  Any ideas how to fix this???
