I have Windows 98, which I previously had Windows 95. Anyone have a good
link on instructions for reformatting my hard drive?

i have an error as in the subject line.
it reboots itself and runs scandisk saying i did not shut down windows
correctly, though no input from me.

Have 124 files in C:\Windows\Temporary folder.  Some examples are ~df???.tmp
and qfn???.tmp.  All will not delete.  The ones that will not delete state
in use by another program.  Those that I have been able to delete keep
coming back.  Any help w/b appreciated.  OS is Win98 ...

 I run linux at home for most stuff, but there are some sites that
require Windows-specific stuff.  I'll be getting back on ADSL soon,
hopefully in the next couple of weeks.  The last 6 months on dialup was
P_A_I_N_F_U_L_L after a couple of years on ADSL.  On broadband, there's

I just finish putting together a computer that has onboard
usb ports in the back and 2 usb ports on the front. I have
tested all the USB ports and they work fine, but why does
Device Manager have a listing under Other Devices for PCI

At START UP, we keep getting the following message;-

When I boot the system I get the following error:

When I click OK i have to reboot and the error keeps
coming back.

Can I change the order that startup applications boot in?
The biggest problem is MS Intellipoint sometimes just doesn't load,
perhaps it is trying to boot with a volume driver, firewall, etc.
