When i did a control alt delete today it showed me two things that i've never
seen before...

Anybody have any idea what these things are, why i got them & how i can get rid

when I start up, it says i am missing vfixd.vxd.  I have
not done anything to not have this anymore, except do a
windows update.
How can I fix this?

after loading norton systemworks pro 2004 the desktop icons
will not stay were moved to before shutdown. they always
move about in a random fashion on each restart. checked
every thing i know, but no help. a 2nd user on this system

I re-formatted my hard drive and re-installed software.
Previously I could arrange the desktop shortcut icons any
way I wanted--mainly with similar programs in consecutive
order, plus mine in one part of the desktop and wife's in

When I switch on the computer, the time/date is the same
as when I last switched it off. It is not updating whilst
the computer is off. Does anyone know why?

I bought a USB device and received confusing information regarding how to
use files located at a URL. The first time I plugged it in, it asked me to
load a driver. I don't think I ever loaded a driver and I did something
wrong because:

Shutting down win98se doesnt show "Its safe to turn off
ur computer" message and logo. Is there any registry

When trying to load "Driverguide Toolkit and WinDVD6, I get the error
message described in the subject. When I go to the Microsoft Knowledge Base,

When I load a blank CD into my Q drive Windows can not
detect the disk, however when I load a CD computer game
into the Q drive it will work? How do I fix the problem so
that I can save my files onto a blank CD?

i was cleaning out some old programs in My Computer and i
think i sent the windows program to the recycle bin. then
my computer froze so i restarted and it wouldnt turn on.
it went to a black screen that reads:

Hi I installed Msoft/Atari Combat Flight Simulator on my
machine. Now it wont shut down completly...it procedes
through shut down screen process than freezes on a black
screen. only way to get out is to hit the power button.

(no extension) that resists deletion.
