Basic question I know, but for the life of me I cant seem
to figure this one out.
Problem; When I open windows explorer the left pane on the
window has my folders in alphabetical order A-Z, in the

Friend's PC is in bad shape.  In normal mode, I can't do anything.  Can't
open "my computer", can't click on start.  The only thing I've been able to
do is ctl+alt+del to cancel some tasks, but even that hasn't helped.
Explorer is not responding.    I can get into safe mode, but ...

I have a hewlett packard vectra .. 128mg pentIII
500mhz..the pc has a smaller hd which is 6.5 gigs as the
master drive.. I installed another hd.. the slave .. which
came from another pc whose motherboard went bad...

       I recently installed a hdd.  I used the system restore CD rom (Win98).
Now, everytime I boot up,  I get a prompt that has a user name and an empty
slot for a password.  I don't want to use a password, so I clicked
"cancel",  the next time (bootup) I tried pressing Enter with ...

1-I made movie of my family on my JVC mini DV digital
camcorder. can and how I copy this movie on some portable
medium so that i can send it to pakistan.

It seems that the only functions i have under the file
menu is ie functions like delete,rename and
properties ,work offline, etc but no new functions to
create new folders and etc

Clickable "Open" file stops working / File associations list?22 Aug 2004 21:32 GMT2
1.  Sometimes, in Windows Explorer, the clickable "Open" function
stops working, notably with files like htm files but sometimes with
even txt files.  I double-click and nothing happens.   Not big files,
less than 100kb, short names.  Just all of sudden,  the clickable open

I tried to up grade windows 95 to 98
and after every thing was done
Windows 98 come on  but then
all I get is a blue screen.

I see "tgcmd". Does anyone know what this is?

the oleacc.dll file is missing from my system and i cannot
load the earthlink.net software because of it. earthlink

Have my computer for 5 years. Windows 98.
I have never used windows update. Is the update worth it
to improve performance. If yes, how does it improve
performance.
"My Docs" Freezes22 Aug 2004 20:25 GMT1
Sometimes when I click on one of the folders in "My Docs"
the computer freezes. Then the desk top safe mode appears.
If I click "restore my active desktop" the problem
resolves temporarily. This happens over and over again.
