am running windows 98 SE. Computer is only one year old
and have never had problems with it before. Windows will

I came across the following problem:
I have an archive including files having long filenames. When I run
the self-extracting archive, Windows 98 truncates the names of files
to 8 char, without ~n sign (as usually done at command prompt).
win98 doesn't have "Open With..."30 Sep 2004 04:54 GMT2
I need the "open with" option so I can change this computer from
opening .jpg's with IE to another program.  I don't see "open with"
and when I go to properties, I don't have the change option.
How can I add this???

Is it possible to obtain a picture viewer for the Window
98 SE OS? Mspaint has completely disappeared from the
computer 98 SE runs on (don't ask me how) and now it is
impossible to view photos on the comp without a viewer

but I did have Windows 95 at one time.  I cannot do

Pertaining to my question yesterday about restoring
hibernating state....the computer is a Compaq E500
Armada.  The operating system is Windows 98 - Series 2
If anyone has any suggestions, please let me know.

I just increaded memory (windows 98/microsoft) from its
original 64 to 192 - as I added 128 mb of memory.  Now
when I turn on my computer I get:  "Memory size is beyond
the capacity of hibernation file.  Hibernation file must

On our second computer we have windows 98.  Its connected
to a router . Our problem is it freezes up all the time.

and it has now dissappered. Have not done any downloads,
it has jsut gone away.

all that shows up is a small white box with shapes in it,
i dont know what to do!
