I hate to think that my problem is very simple, which it

When I start up the computer, it makes it through the
Microsoft Windows 98 startup screen, then my desktop
wallpaper and my network sign in dialogue comes up...but
after I hit Ok or cancel on that, a dialogue box comes up

When i turn it on i comes up and says Cannot find a device
file that may be needed to Run Windows or a Windows
application.  The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file
refers to this device file but the device file no longer

I know that continual restarts can be a pain to troubleshoot ... but this
suddenly has become a real problem on my Gateway 9300 laptop (Win98se, 160
RAM,600 Pent  III, IE6). So I'm wondering if there is a troubleshooting
checklist I can use to pinpoint the problem?

How do I get rid of that error message? It comes up when I
turn on the computer and again when I log into my home
page..Also how do I delete and outgoing messge that won't
delete(Outlook Express)? Thanks so much

Some web pages such as 'BankWests online banking' are
bigger than my screen (15 inch) and have no scroll bars.
Is there a way to shrink them ?
Also pages such as yours have scroll bars but the viewing
