Defrag, scandisk & safe mode in win9809 Sep 2004 04:51 GMT2
Whenever I try to run any of the subject software the
standard way as sugested by win help, the most I get is
<Keyboard error> and system reverts to win98 start, but
never in safe mode. I would like to avoid to format my

I am working on a system Win98, that every time I boot
gets a blue screen, with the following "a fatal exception
OD occurred at 0147:000070f5" and it says to press any

After installing a simple commercial program from a reliable vender my
system crashes every time I use windows explorer in any way.
SFC finds SETUPX.DLL may be damaged. Problem is that system crashes when
trying to install that file from 98 disk..

A few days ago I put a whole new innards into my Uncles PC because his hard
disk had died - it was a Quantum drive and i suspect that its' death was
programmed into the firmware - in the hd's' IDE board but, I won't go into

user to locate or extract a particular file from the Windows disc. The files
are contained in zipped CAB files. In these circumstances, I've never been
able to locate a particular file using the "Find" feature. ...
