I cleaned up a Dell PC Win98 (not win98SE).  Everything is working ok,
except shut takes about two minutes.
I remember there's a couple of different shut down fixes for Win98SE, will
they work for plain Win98?

I am unable to delete this file.  I have closed this file
using control-alt-delete, but when I try to delete this
file the message says it can not be deleted because
Windows is using it.  This file is found in Windows/surf

When I boot I get this vsdata95.vxd file is missing or has been deleted and
is referred to in system.ini.  Hampers start up and I do not know where to
find this file to replace. (Using Windows 98)

I recently eliminated a virus on my Win 98 SE pc that included the file
"sservice.exe"
That file no longer exists on the pc, and, a search of the Registry cannot
find any mention of it.  However, every time I boot up, I get a notice that

I am fed up with McAfee.

Can I use drivers taken from an XP installation cd in win 98?
I have a portable hard drive that connects via a USB port. It's very
handy and runs like a champ on my XP equipped Dell laptop. However,
I'd like to use it on my win98 machine too.
