If I *upgrade* from 98se to Windows 2000 instead of doing a format and full
install with 2000 will I lose all programs I have installed all my 98 PC?

When using W98 SE Windows Explorer, my machine locks up for long periods of

whenever i try to shut down win98 after leaving it open for more than
3 hours, win98 won't shut down or reboot.  if i do a ctrl-alt-delete i
either see the word "run32.dll" or "javaconsole" and neither will
close either.  if i see either of these files i can't shut win98 down
