I downloaded and installed a more recent version of IE (5.50.4807.2300IC) with lots of help and advice from you lot.  According to microsoft update site, I need 19 critical updates/service packs-most to do with security, 43 win 98 and 98 SE updates, and 1 driver update (modem).  ...

I am really new to this and need some help.  I am working on a win98 system
and was doing some spyware cleanup and was running into some difficulties at
reboot.  The first one is a LBA message occurs when I boot in safe mode, I

I'm dealing with a problem trying to "share" a printer using the
following:
1 - Desktop, WinXP Home - connected to router
2 - Laptop, WinXP Home - connected via wireless card

the problem is the machine stop recognizing the keyboard & mouse the win98
loads cool, even the screen saver activated after a short time

At least once a day when I move my mouse(MS PS2 optical) the system
freezes/hangs and the mouse cursor freezes where it was.  I can sometimes
Ctl-Alt-Del my way to a restart but often have to power off.  Has anybody

all my desktop and computer icons now have the calculator icon
and when i click on them they just pop up the calculator, even
though under properties they are all pointing to the right extension
and when i try and change the picture of the icon that doesn't work

Frequently when using the computer I will move the mouse(MS PS2 attached
optical) and the system will freeze - can't move the mouse cursor and none of
its buttons work.  Usually after hitting Ctr-Alt-Del 2-5 times the system
will restart(often running scandisk but not always).  ...

Help! All of a sudden my cd-rom does not work!  I don't know much about
