Just a minor problem, recently I have noticed that the setting for the
maximum size of my Recycle Bin wont stay permanent - after a reboot it
defaults back to 10%. This is whether I use Global or independent

I have a laptop that is running Windows 98. If I open Internet Explorer or
Microsoft Outlook, maybe other programs too, I get an error message that says
"Microsoft Visual C++ Runtime Library Runtime error". Then it says "This
application has requested the runtime to terminate it ...

When I start my computer, I'm getting above error.
I tried Microsoft Knowledge base article 191609 (which renames explorer.exe
file in C:\, I don't see this in my C:\) and 296211 (which extracts
explorer.exe file). Nothing works out. Is there any way, I can rectify this

I have window98se but when I try to load up some new software such as
that required for a wifi pcmcia card I get a message saying that
install will have to close as  a dll is missing.

I by accident erased a file. Now when I boot up my computer it says that a
file is missing, and my computer shuts down. What can I do?

Does anyone know how to make your num lock key come on automatically in
Windows 98?  I thought I had to press teh F8 key while the PC starts up, but
that is not working?  Any help would be helpful.

The Msinfo32.exe utility on the system I am refurbishing
has 12 apps on the TOOLS menu where I only have 10 when I
run it on my own machine.  I am missing the Microsoft

I just upgraded my old W98 PC to W98se and that went smoothly. I also
added a network card so I could connect to the web using a Cat 5 cable -
that works just fine.
I have eTrust EZAV v 6.2 running and it works fine (and did under W98

I installed a copy of Microsoft Frontpage on my Windows 98 Pc 2 years ago. I
have now got a new computer running windows 98 second edition. I lost the cd
key for frontpage. I still have the original disk. Is the ary way of finding
out the 25 character CD KEY from my old computer. ...

Can any one help me. Where can I download software to password protect
