When I start up my computer the only thing that appears is "C:/". I have to
press enter to continue booting. How can I fix this?

I am running windows 98SE with all updates current.  Every time I close my
last internet explorer window I get the following error "EXPLORER caused an
invalid page fault in module KERNEL32.DLL at 0187:bff87ede."  What is it
telling me and is there a fix.

   When I run scanreg /fix it stalls at checking system.dat - is this a
symptom of a major problem does anyone know and can it be fixed?
