I'm trying to use my webcam. I've installed it, but I keep
getting a message that says "Windows was unable to locate
a driver for this device". Can anyone tell me what I need
to do to be able to use my cam?

The windows registry or SYSTEM.INI file refers to this device file, but the

I vaguely remember many years ago having this error message when booting up
windows98 on another computer and have forgotten the fix. It occured after
doing some updates on an old non-internet connected system I was asked to fix.

I have a problem the cause of which could be a corrupted or infected
MBR, but virus scans with Norton AV and Trend online don't find a
virus. I've been advised and come to the conclusion that my only
chance to fix it was to run fdisk/mbr. I'm using Win98.

when i boot up scanregw runs. when i check in the
temporary folder in the windows folder there are two (2)
files created by scanregw. i ran scanregw manually to
confirm that it was creating the two files. i delete the

I had System Mechanic 4 on my computer.  I decided I
didn't want it and uninstalled it. I removed everything I
could. I even edited the Registry and removed any
reference to System Mechanic.
