I have Win 98 Second Edition upgrade.  I have tried to
install a Microsoft Wireless Notebook Mouse.  I am
prompted to place my 98 CD disk in the computer.  The
Install Wizard spins it up and comes back with a message

Do I need more than one video cards to have multi-
monitors or is it just somthing with one monitor and
switch back and forth?

I want to upgrade my WINDOWS 98 SE to WINDOWS XP.    But, my OS (98 SE) has
had some viruses and I know it has probably been damaged.   Whenever I start
my PC, I get some messages that a file from WINDOWS or from an APPLICATION

How can I transfer my data, ie pictures, works, ect to my
new computer, windows xp from windows 98 first edition.  
the flash drive does not work on 1st edition.

Certainly not an earth-shocking problem , but I'm just curious.
My system is W98SE, P III - 800 MHx processor, Asus CUV4X-C motherboard - 384
megs of  memory.
Lately, when I start up the computer, the wallpaper does not load immediately -

When I boot the PC up a box with this message shows up
and indicates that an illegal operation has taken place
and then a second smaller box appears eith the message
