Can I download from a MS site an upgrade from 98 to 2000,
or would I be better off purchasing an upgrade?

PC using WIN98Se. I encountered a registry problem and
when a good backup registry was selected and on reboot,
some of the programs were not functioning and required
reinstall.

I wrote in a week ago with this problem.  I reformated my
hard drive to get rid of a problem using the "Gateway
system Restoration CD".  I followed the instructions on
the disk and every thing was fine untill it prompted me

I'm not too sure what i deleted but I deleted something
that must have needed to stay in my computer. Because now
not only does my sound not work my computer says there is
no sound card/sound device. Not too sure what i need to

I am trying to install an old win95 program that requires
"share.exe". Could someone email/post/post a link for me.

When trying to use a flash drive on my machine running
W98, the system cannot find the driver necessary.  I
searched the MS Support site, to no avail. Anyone have any
suggestions?

Help guys,
I am a 63yo tyro and my Gateway 2000 has taken to loading
Windows 98SE in "Safe" mode.
How can I revert to normal.

My son has windows 98 on his computer, and it started
saying he was running out of memory so i delted some
things out of add/remove programs such as registry
mechanic, zango, Kazaa, and things, then i restarted it,

My computer got all screwed up when a friend visited an
advertisers web site. I deleted everything off my hard
drive and reinstalled windows 98, but noe my display
resolution won't change from 16... it says I have the most

Freezes @ Windows 98 display when switched on. AHHH!!
Would any kind soul have an idea what causes this or how
I can atleast get to desktop? Any ideas/tips are most
appreciated  :)

When I start my computer the [Enter Network password]
always appear with home in the User name, looking for a
password and I just hit canceland it goes away.  How can I
remove this form my startup screen?  JG
