A friend has a Win 98 system that I am sure has many viruses and worms. The
viruses have disabled their antivirus software. I brought my copy of Norton
Sytemworks on CD to help, but the viruses don't let the CD load. I can't boot

I am having a lot of problems with my computer.  I have spyware/adware on the
computer and I have tried so many programs to remove them such as "Spydoctor"
and "Ad Ware" but I am not having much luck as the spyware/adware keeps
coming back and I cannot delete the infected files.  ...

Hi, i am currently using a workgroup with pc's usign 95,98 and xp. the
workgroup works fine, but my only problem is;
2 of the pc's can see the server in network neighbourhood, but the server
can NOT see them? why is this and why does this happen to only those 2.

When you get a response to a question i can't read it, i get a little box in
the right hand corner with an answer but how do i read the whole message, all
that's shown is a couple of words, so how do i pull it up.

I have had a problem with my Win98se. The menu icons in the windows upper
right
corner (minimize, resize and close) have changed into strange icons.

When I go into troubleshooter and click on a subject(eg modem help) the right
pane is blank after I hit display button. I ve tried downloading the softfix
from mvps.org but it still does not work. What else can I do to either fix

has "NIS 2003" (including firewall and
antivirus), "Spywar_eBlaster 3.2", "Spybot S&D 1.3" and
the latest "AdAware 1.05".  

How do I get windows explorer to display a different folder other than My
Documents upon start up.

I believe that it is possible that the software files that
control "DMA" may be damaged.  I may be in a
position to specifically overwrite them from a backup,
rather than have to do any reinstall of Windows.

I had to replace mfc42.dll:xxxx last year and now I'm installing Palm
software and it is trying to link subs30.dll to missing mfc42.dll:6880.
I'm assuming this is an updated mfc42.dll file. I do have a mfc42.dll file
in Windows - Systems folder and all my other programs seems to ...
