Whenever I click on Start/Shutdown/Shutdown my computer restarts. So I have to power off using the physical buton. Thanks in advance for any hint.

I don't know how, but something deleted my shelliconcache file from the Windows folder (I'm guessing some spyware removal tool). I have the Max Cached Icons set to 4096 in the registry (HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\explorer)

Please help. I downloaded DX9 from WU, and it showed to install, but dxdiag shows DX8. When I go back to WU, it shows DX9 as a needed update. So, I do it again, but it won't "take." I've tried several times, with the same result each time.
