When right clicking anywhere to access the drop-down menu,
I find that the Create New File/Folder option is missing.
This had happened recently and restoring a previous
registry has not helped. Any suggestions? Thks.

while trying to get rid of unwanted programs, I deleted
the sidefind program. Now windows will not reboot. this
was a used computer we have no back up disk. when the

I have been receiving an error message when i try to
connect to the internet saying cannot connect to remote
computer modem busy or not installed properly.  I
uninstalled it pulled it out reinstalled it (including

After reinstalling windows, everytime I restart the
computer I get a message that a new hardware devise has
been found.  I let it search for a driver, which is never
found, so I cancel out of the process.

mean full os and all programs installed. I was wondering

I have a Gateway Essential computer using Windows 98.  
When I play an audio CD there's no sound.  I have also
checked certain "event sounds" and those don't sound
either...on the back of the computer, there are two holes

One of our Seniors members has installed ADSL on a Window 98SE System, all
is working OK with the exception that when she boots up and then opens
Internet Explorer before it will load she gets a BSOD with the error message
of 0028:C02A1208, you can then press any key and IE loads ...

I have windows 98 second edition. My computer will only
start up in safe mode even when I choose "normal" from the

When I left click my mouse on the desktop, my start menu
pops up where I clicked my mouse (not at the start menu
location).  I have to left click again somewhere else on
the desktop to make that menu go away.  Everything else

When I go to some webb sites they close AOL with a GPF.
ie "Error C0000005 occurred in module MSVCRT.DLL at
address 780154A7" I also have stack info if needed.

I have a reall yhard problem to solve. When i go into
Direct X and check my system this on place says
"The file mfc42.dll is incorrectly installed in the
Windows folder and should be deleted."
