I was trying to install a network and a cd rom to my
computer.  I do not have the windows 98 second edition cd
and it keeps asking me to insert it.  I do not know where
to purchase one of those, and I recently had the problem

Can anyone advise what a KDX file is?

Recently I had to rebuild my computer because of spyware.  
It is W98
The problem:  If you right click on some of my desktop
icons, under the "shortcut" tab, there is nothing change.  

When i use the file-open dialog in various applications the files are not sorted
by extension. how can i change the settings, that the files are automatically
sorted by extension, without clicking everytimes on the bar to sort them ?

After downloading a program and trying to install it,,I am
getting an Error saying:
Unable to create a temporary file
Set up is aborted.

Anyone have any idea why Startup/Shutdown Troubleshooter
(Windows Help) fails after 1st option entry?
No matter what option I choose, Troubleshooter just stalls
with NO 2nd step or further options displayed.

I've 52 Windows 98 machines running in the marketing
department and want to set all of the colour schemes and
desktop settings to be the same. I also want to display
the company logo as the desktop background on each machine.

I tryed to use the factory reboot disk to reboot a

told it to reformat the hd and install windows.  now on

Using Windows 98, during the power on procedure and before the desktop
appears system stops with error message.
Error Message Reads: Advanced INF Install, Error could not locate INF file
'D:\content\win9x\win98se\wsefinish.inf.'

I am trying to bring my win98 PC back to life after my
primary family XP PC took a jolt and is in the shop.
I tried to run scandisk..which is now stuck running and I
