Does anyone know what files determine the key mapping of a keyboard?  I and
some others have a problem with the dual stroke French characters. It does
not matter what keyboard is used, but something seems to alter the key
mapping in the French language.

 1) I see that my control panel is "broken"; clicking on any icon does
nothing. Apps do run from icons.(version 4.10.1998)
2 )  I 'd like to be able to make changes to my network IP settings - is

I am trying to help a friend who is running Win98SE on her PC. Whenever she
goes to Control Panel, Display and clicks on the Settings Tab (to change
some settings)the computer shuts down! It shuts down before she has a chance
to make any changes.

internet files(and any associated unnecessary files) do not build up

I have been trying to get 9x machines to log on and for some reason

When I go to Start then Help I get:
"Cannot find the file 'hh.exe' (or one of its components)
make sure the path and filename are correct and that all

   I recently started hanging at the "Starting Windows 98..." screen. No
error messages, just the black screen with the line just mentioned. I

keep having problems with shutdown ever since replacing the
harddisk. basically fairly often during the bootup (after
the shutdown) either scandisk will run or scanreg will
mention registry error.
