When I get round to formating my hard drive on my windows 98SE system I will have saved and backed up all the important documents, favourites and messages. Will I again have to download all the critical updates since 1999 or can these be backed up as well. Bob

My HP9500 series CD Writer quit writing CDs. Just hangs up during test phase. Uninstalled the software and tried to remove the device, but my computer just locks up and I have to shut down the process of removing.

Recently when i boot up my system it went to scandisk which report my drives may have bad sectors.It run for about 3% then stopped and failed to repair.Only my wallpaper and mouse cursor was loaded up.I'm using win 98se (pentium 3)

I recently have noticed a lot of registry cleaners. Are these any better than the registry fixer in Winsows98, or something that would do a lot better job to clean-up and stop so many hangs and errors. Bellmeister.
