How can I embed ASCII control characters in a text file?  I can use Notepad,
Word Pad, Works, or Word.

Getting blue screens at work - only affects Windows 98 systems, have not

When I get round to formating my hard drive on my windows 98SE system I will
have saved and backed up all the important documents, favourites and
messages.  Will I again have to download all the critical updates since 1999
or can these be backed up as well. Bob

I am having a problem with emm286.exe. I get the error "unable to set page
frame base address" Can anyone help me find a resolution to this problem. I

My HP9500 series CD Writer quit writing CDs.  Just hangs up during test
phase.  
Uninstalled the software and tried to remove the device, but my computer
just locks up and I have to shut down the process of removing.

i have tried to uninstall norton 2004 but when i restart my comp error
messages come up about lost files the messages are symevnt.386

  Recently when i boot up my system it went to scandisk which report my
drives may have bad sectors.It run for about 3% then stopped and failed to
repair.Only my wallpaper and mouse cursor was loaded up.I'm using win 98se
(pentium 3)

I recently have noticed a lot of registry cleaners. Are these any better
than the registry  fixer in Winsows98, or something that would do a lot
better job to clean-up and stop so many hangs and errors.
