Hi, i am using a windows 98 machine and i have recently noticed that when i
right click on the desktop, nothing happens. why is this?
i checked in the relevant placed in the registry and everything is how it is
meant to be.

I notice that there is a folder called "Recycled" in the root C Drive. It has a couple of dozen "DC" files in it. What is this folder for if there is already a recycle bin? What are DC files?

I have a Rockwell HCF 56k modem and I am not getting a dial in sound. I tried
MS problem solver # 195219 but does not work as my volume control box does

I placed the Windows 98 dist in cd tray and restarted the PC, thinking this

I bought a computer with no operating system and am buying a copy of win98se
OEM version will this work in loading it on the computer as an operating
system?

When I attempt to shut down Windows 98, the program gets to the last step.  
Then instead of actually shutting down, Windows starts up again as if I had
the restart button selected instead of the shut down button.  Any suggestions
