Monitor permanent sleep17 Nov 2004 13:44 GMT1
 My system was left on for a long time and somehow the monitor was put into
"sleep" , standby or power saving mode by the computer.  Monitor is on and
LED is yellow.  Moving the mouse or pressing a key doesn't bring it back.  
Even when the monitor is dosconnected and plugged in ...

For some reason I can no longer create a new folder anywhere from within
Windows Explorer. Even clicking on the File button does not show the "New"
option.  Any suggestions as to how to get it back.  Thanks.

I used to open the my pictures file and view the page as a web page
this enabled me to click once on a thumbnail which opened it on the
lefthandside of the screen allowing me to view it before deciding on
whether to fully open it or not.

I don't know if this is the right community for this problem and I am sorry
if it will be a lil long, but I hope I can find help here.
I have bought a new video card (nVidia FX 5200) and it is giving me
problems. It created me an error message called DDhelp. I read for hours all

My computer I can't figure out. I am using Windows 98. When I open the
History pane, and right click on a site I was at, select properties....it
doesn't have information for time and date. Is shows N/A. Why is it doing

Is there a way to fix the mbr on a laptop running Win 98.  I have the hard
drive out and attached to my pc as a removable disk.  I can see everything
in the hard drive but when it is in the laptop, it cannot find the boot
files.

I continue to get a message on computer when i try to boot that reads error
'msvcrt.dll linked to missing export NTDLL.DLL:Rt|GetNTVersionNumbers'
And I am not able to get through to where the system loads all of my
programs on the menu screen. It all stops with that message.

I have someone that has a win 98 pc and when it boots up it comes to a
screen that says 'a required .dll file, msvcrt.dll, was not found. When i
click ok, nothing happens. I can't even logon to try and fix it. Can anyone

my last thread started getting too long so im gona start all over again.  I
got an invalid system disk message, got a boot disk, ran it, got to the C:\
prompt, entered "win" and i get a message saying "HIMEM.SYS is missing.  
Check it is in your Windows directory".  So i go back ...

What's the use of a specifying a password to be used to log onto Windows
98SE at start up, if you can circumvent this feature by selecting cancel?
