My DVD Drive has started playing up. It plays DVDs too fast - Ive tried a new
drive and that does the same. Ive uninstalled the software and re-installed
and that doesnt work either. Normal music CDs play fine. it just seems to be
dvds playing too fast. Can anyone help?

Boot process reads memory test to Windows 98 launch and freezes. Message,
disk has bad sector. Scandisk was unable to run.I changed BIOS to CD-ROM,C,A
and incerted Windows98 to get into DOS to use scandisk and it was running its
ck. Media descriptor ck,ok-File Allocation Table ck ...

I am missing Wordpad on windows 98, can u tell if I can download this ? TIA

Hi My win 98 has crashed, and I can not restart it. I have installed windows
xp pro on same computer which works fine. I would like to be ablet to get

folders of win 98, but can not find the my documents. ...

Does anyone know how to view the services running on a windows 98 machine?
I am trying to confirm that services required for a particular software are
set to automatic and not manual.
Same as the ones you see on Windows 2000 and XP machine.

I want to reformat my hard drive and reinstall Win 98, but I don't have the
original CD.   How can do this?

My old computer suddenly stopped working correctly with applications throwing
up invalid page fault in module <unknown> etc.  It seems to be connected to
explorer though I also think the boot file has been modified in some way.  A
virus scan in safe mode detected nothing.

This error is in normal and safe mode boot;

For unknown reason(s) my home computer running Windows 98 2nd edition with
updates, has a screen appearance which is enlarged: both online and desktop
views.  The graphics are poor now also.  A par5ticular window no longer fits
onto the screen because it's too big and the print ...

When I copy files from a CD to my hard drive, the read-only
attribute is set on all the files, presumably because the CD is a
read-only medium.  I just wondered if there's any easy way to reset
that flag in the process of copying.

I get the message that EXPLORER caused an invalid page fault in module
SHD0CVW.DLL at page 015:7172ee9c everytime I startup and I can't go any
further.  What can I do to correct this?
