When I start  my computer, which is running Windows 98 SE, I get a popup box
with a message and an "ok" button. When I click on the ok button, a second
popup box is behind the first, it also has an "ok" button on it. If I click
on both ok buttons the computer finishes it's start up ...

The two CD drives are setup and working OK on the secondary EIDE
channel.
I've confirmed that from DOS. Win98SE Control Panel\System has the CD
drives

I am trying to install Nero v6 on my recently formatted laptop, but as
install nearly completes a message box shows "before you install
nero.......you must have a newer cmtl32.dll...go to windows update"

When I am in Internet Explorer 6.0 and want to change my Internet Options if
I go to Tools, then click on Internet Options I get the following message,
"This operation has been canceled due to restrictions in effect on this
computer.  Please contact your system administrator. "

I installed my new USB flash drive using the Win 98 drivers provided.  Even
though Windows recognised the driver after reboot, My Computer never displays
the drive - Device Manager reports some sort of problem with ntkern.vxd -
what on earth does this mean?

I am running Windows 98SE and when my computer boots up, on that black
screen right before Windows loads, it has four different C:\  and then one
that says C:\set TVdumpflags=10.  Is there a way for me to get rid of those?
I think they are left behind from me uninstalling things.  ...

I have a generic USB flash drive that I use with Windows 98SE. A few
weeks ago, it started behaving badly. It won't let me write new files
to it. When I attempt to copy a file to the drive I get the message

Today when i came into work one of our computers on the shop floor will not
boot up. It stops at ps/2 mouse initialized then it stops there. I tryed
replacing mouse same thing. I tryed totally unplugging the mouse and then it

I know Win98 has a 2 gig file size limit but I am not sure if this means a CREATION limit or READ limit or both. Does anybody know?
If I have a 5gig file on my networked W2K - W98SE PC's, can I copy this large file to a directory on the Win98 pc? Would Win98 be

Hope someone can help with this issue.
All of a sudden my pc (win98se) would not shut down, it 'hung' with a blank
screen and i could only turn off at power point.
I tried all avenues (disabling drives etc and even putting the microsoft
