I recently went back to an old registry and now my computer seems to have a
screen saver on it and I can't find any in the find files menu. Any ideas on
how I can get rid of this?

I have windows 98 and Pentium2 computer,When i start Internet explorer there
is a message 'an error has occured in your program --------     there are  2
Options =CLOSE/IGNORE '   When I click close there is another message
'Iexplore has performed an illegal operation in details ...

I need to backup files on W98 with Fat32 to a server share on NTFS.
Is there a way to do this, or do I need to be copying from Fat32 to Fat32?

I renewal my Norton Antivirus, to the new version Norton Antivirus 2005. Ever
since I've been getting the following errors:
"Symantec Email Proxy cannot scan your email messages because your network
is not properly configured: (1003.13)"

I have a laptop that, on the hour (every hour!), chimes - @12 it chimes 12
times, @8 it chimes 8 times. Plus the half hour gets a chime as well, just to
the sake of it.
I've checked that there isn't any other software installed that would do

When I press my space bar, the cursor returns to a new line. This is driving
me crazy.
The returns key is working fine, as are all the other keys. I've look in
control panel, keyboard and the language is set to UK English.

I run Windows 98. My internet stopped connecting. Now when it tries to dial
in, it freezes the whole program. If I ctl/alt/del and try to end the
program, a blue screen will appear with "System is Busy". I have tried to
nose around a little with some help but it's been no help. ...

...can anybody vouch for any of these ?
...I mean what the use of installing this sort of program if it has malware
attached to it - sort of defeats the objective doesn't it !

On my win98se computer when I try to print anything I get this error
message - Lexmark z515 printer incorrect port detected.
In Settings/printer the Lexmark is shown as default. Right clicking the
icon for properties and clicking details says the Lexmark is connected to

I want to restore my registry to what it was yesterday.
I went to "scanreg/restore", but the only files available were dated
10/20/04,  10/19/04,  10/18/04 and 10/17/04.
The cab files in Windows\sysbackup have the same dates.

    I recently installed "SpyBot" 1.3 in one of my computers.
It found several "spys" and removed all except one, "DSO Exploit".
I tried it again, but it wasn't able to remove it.  Did you have a
similar experience using "SpyBot"?

For the last few days, I noticed that in "search results" and "file open"
