Can anyone give me a heads up on a really good freeware DOS Command
Prompt shell for Windows 98? I want things like scrolling, command
history, multiple windows, etc..

I recently noticed a new addition to my autoexec file that is a mystery to

I think I have a slowly failing drive and want to replace it before it
gives out completely.

I have a old laptop, which did have Windows 98 on it and a Freecom CD
drive connected via the USB port, however I have formatted my PC by

the DINPUT8.DLL file is linked to missing export
ADVAPI32.DLL:AddAccessAllowedAceEx.
What is this?
How do I fix it?

When my computer's screen was frozen I turned it off by using turn and off
power button on a back of my computer.
Now, during computer's starting some non-stopping short beeps are happening.
After pressing the enter button on a keyboard it disappears.

I have used Smart panel with my 89 PC but after I upgraded to XP and
reinstalled  my software including Epson 1260 I get the following message
"Unable to access the scanner because it is not ready or another application
is using it. Close all scanning applications."

While I was on the computer someone hit the power off button.  When I tried
to restart the computer I got the message, "Disk Boot Failure, Insert system
disk and press enter".  I put the win98 system start-up floppy in and pressed

I have had my computer off for a few weeks and when I tried to get it up and
going I have a black screen that states " If you can see this, that means
that windows has successfully loaded this screen adapter" it then goes on to
say " if you would like this to be on your desktop ...

i keep getting these blank windows in my task bar and when i click on them

Hi, I am lost. I try to do business cards, I used to and it worked, not
anymore. I work in Office 2000 with Win 98 SE. I go to labels and envelopes,
but there is no wy to chose the fonts and the appearance. When I create a
word doc. it prints far too high although I set the right ...

I am putting together a computer for my mom - mostly email and some WORD use.
Not frequent - have both ME and 98 and not sure what to install. I know 98
was more stable but wonder if I should use ME because it is newer. Any
advice??

I  just got some family photos in an email and mom is really! needing
to see them.  But, her equipment won't handle these 450KB photos.  
without blowing her software, etc.  Is it possible to resize a picture
without sophisticated software?  My equipment's not top rank either.
