My daughter is using Win 98SE and has run into a problem I can`t help
her solve. Somehow the colors have reverted to 16 and the pixels
to640x480. It looks like it`s in safe mode but I don`t think it is. At
any rate I`m unable to change it. The only color choices are 2 and 16.

Troubleshooting steps:

I would like to have explorer open with the folders displayed in the left

When a program hijacks a file association, I go to Explorer/Folder
Options/File types, and the data still looks correct. It has not
changed, yet the old util no longer opens the file.
