I am trying to transfer my files from my old computer to a new computer.  To
do so, I purchased a USB drive (Sony Micro Vault).  Since I am running
Windows 98, I needed to download a driver from their web site.  I did so, but
found that I can't run the driver with the device ...

I'm helping my brother straighten out his computer.  Occassionally the
monitor reverts to basic display settings and the mouse does not work.
I have fixed this in the past by restoring the registry but this time
it failed to restore the registry (from what I can tell this is because

My desktop, and associated toolbars, have taken on a decidedly purplish tint
lately.  Monitor adjustments don't seem to change it.
Any suggestions?

I am having problems with my resloution.  I am running WIN 98 and my can't
change my resolution.  It is stuck on 640 X 480.
I recently did the following things to increase speed on my PC:
1)  Went to Start, Run, msconfig, and disabled all of my start-up programs;

unpack Adobe is automatically started, although Adobe is already installed.
(i.e. the full unpacking process has been allowed to take place on many

First How come a file named 2035.txt comes before 343.txt? I'm
baffled.Is it the way win98 figures numbers in sequence? I don't want to
sort by date because the sort by file is used.I have different files in

I think I am missing a lot of important update for my computer. I get error
number 0x80090305. It happens right when it starts to scan for updates. It is
behind a wireless router. Maybe the connection is not getting through. Google
didn't help and the microsoft support faq's ...
