just reinstalled win98 and seem's as though i now have two RUNDLL32 is this right and if not how do i get rid of one , cause i can't shut down one when i go to close program's but the other will shutdown , is it from a program that i have taken out or what ?

Could someone enlighten me as to why the old computers had to have th cdrom drivers loaded, etc. before the machine would be able to find th drive, and the newer machines can be booted to the cdrom even with a ne or formatted hard-drive. Does it have something to do with the newe

Win98. Start> Find> files and folders. There is a drop down box with a history of recent searches. Can this list be cleared? How? Thanks

When i use my computer it randomly restarts. However it does not restart when i am either playing a game or using it in safe mode. I have reinstalled windows 98 after formating the hard drive but it still continues to restart.

It is occasionally fascinating to watch the responses, in MS NG's, to a post that suggests or recommends something quite specific. Responses rapidly appear that "read-into" the original post ALL SORTS of things that simply were not contained or even suggested in that post !

My kids have fried our Pentium II Windows '98 system (spyware, viruses--who knows what else!) and we now get an error when trying to connect to the NET: res://C:Windows/System\SHDOLCC.DLL/dnsserver.html error. Not a big deal because I woulde like to upgrade to 2000 Pro anyway.
