Yesterday, my Win98 machine started to get really, really weird on me.

I purchase a computer (Compaq) several years ago.  It came with Win98
installed.   My hard drive crashed and I have installed a new one.  When I
try to re-install Win 98 I get the following message, "Operating system not

I was told that even though we delete files, empty the trash bin, the files
we deleted are still on the computer, you just have to know how to get there.
The person that told me this could not tell me how. Was he pulling my leg or

I just ordered a copy of Win98SE for my Packard Bell computer.  The copy is
non Propriatary.  The Packard Bell currently has a Win98 propriatary disk.  
Will Win98SE correctly install on my Packard Bell and, more inportantly, will

I encountered a problem with my computer system when I put in a c.d. rom into

Since 99' I have been successfully using an IBM computer with AMD-K62 &

A 3.5" floppy drive on an old computer that I recently acquired.
The drive worked for 4 days, read a disk OK.
Today, it will not read the same floppy. The floppy reads fine on my other computer.

Is it possible to view the WHOLE of a large picture in Paint?
By this I mean the equivalent of Photoshop's "Fit on Screen", or the ability
to "Zoom Out" to LESS than 100%.
Paint doesn't do much, but it is very fast to open and to operate and can

i have tested my video card it with dacris benchmarks.
and it seems to indicate 2d is running at 550mb/s or more with just one
monitor, but when i activate and span my desktop over 2 monitors it drops to
aprox 100mb/s
