System changing floppy drive letters29 Jan 2005 21:10 GMT4
During the last month, the 98SE has changed the floppy drive letters, e.g.,
CD read/write "F" drive to "G" and Zip drive from "G" to "E".  In addition,
the system takes approx two minutes to boot.  A licensed MS Tech reviewed and
could not find a problem.  Can anybody explain why ...

I mistakenly installed older DivX technology. The problem I'm having is that

"flash.ocx" which is an offshoot of macromedias 7.0 flash player is causing
me graphics problems, as my graphics are flashing out of control.  I can
uninstall it and also remove from the regediter and my graphics are normal
again, but the darn thing keeps reinstalling itself.  ...

Hello, I need help.
Everytime I try to open/start Microsoft Outlook and/or Microsoft Word, i get
this pop-up and it automatically tries to install something. And seconds

I presume this is a security bulletin, I have done searches at the microsoft
security location and come up with nothing.
Pc-cillin alerts me to go to Windows update, however.... nada comes up after
the scan, I need no updates.

I've now got no audio cd sound from the cd drive. The sound troubleshooters
have vanished too.
Putting in a data cd drives the system wild - it thinks that it's an audio
cd and won't let go of the idea.

Lately my pc keeps crashing in the shape of illegal operations mainly
with explorer(windows) and media player but it has happened on other
things. I also suffer from a lot of freezes where everything hangs and

The 'C:\Windows\Temp' folder has recently been filling up with
'JetXXXX.tmp' files.  The OS is Windows98 SE (OEM) and in several
years, none of  these persisent 'Jet' .tmp files have shown up on the
system before  Has anyone information as to why recently, theses .tmp

Lately I have been unable to play on any online game site (Pogo,Uproar,
Gamesville, etc....).  Everytime I try to play I get a mesage that says
Microsoft Internet Explorert has Encountere a problem.

Up until now, I've had no trouble playing audio CD's in the CD drive.
But no more. The disc spins but nothing from the speakers. I've tested the
speakers and they're definately working. Furthermore, going to sound
troubleshooter and clicking on this problem gets me a blank page!
