During the last month, the 98SE has changed the floppy drive letters, e.g.,
CD read/write "F" drive to "G" and Zip drive from "G" to "E".  In addition,
the system takes approx two minutes to boot.  A licensed MS Tech reviewed and
could not find a problem.  Can anybody explain why ...

I mistakenly installed older DivX technology. The problem I'm having is that
I know get an error message stating" The Quartz.dll file is linked to
missing export KERNELL32>DLL:DelayLoadFailureHook"

"flash.ocx" which is an offshoot of macromedias 7.0 flash player is causing

uninstall it and also remove from the regediter and my graphics are normal
again, but the darn thing keeps reinstalling itself.  ...

I am running Win96SE. I am uable to start Windows Media Player. When I
double click on the shortcut nothing happens.
How do I uninstall/reinstall the player.

Hello, I need help.
Everytime I try to open/start Microsoft Outlook and/or Microsoft Word, i get
this pop-up and it automatically tries to install something. And seconds
later, I get another pop-up that tells me to put "Microsoft Office 2000

I presume this is a security bulletin, I have done searches at the microsoft
security location and come up with nothing.
Pc-cillin alerts me to go to Windows update, however.... nada comes up after
the scan, I need no updates.

  I was just wondering if it would be okay to change my computer to a
tri-boot and have Linux on my computer as well.  I am starting to become
fascinated with open-source products and Linux would be a nice new challenge
for me to work towards.  If I installed Linux would I need to ...

There is no NEW entry available when I click FILE in Windows 98.

I've now got no audio cd sound from the cd drive. The sound troubleshooters
have vanished too.
Putting in a data cd drives the system wild - it thinks that it's an audio
cd and won't let go of the idea.

Whenever I plug any USB device into a USB port (I've tried three different
devices, a camera, an mp3 player, and a wireless internet device) a message
box appears on the screen, saying that the USB power limits had been exceeded

Lately my pc keeps crashing in the shape of illegal operations mainly
with explorer(windows) and media player but it has happened on other
things. I also suffer from a lot of freezes where everything hangs and
is unresponsive although the machine does seem to respond to pressing

The 'C:\Windows\Temp' folder has recently been filling up with
'JetXXXX.tmp' files.  The OS is Windows98 SE (OEM) and in several
years, none of  these persisent 'Jet' .tmp files have shown up on the
system before  Has anyone information as to why recently, theses .tmp

Lately I have been unable to play on any online game site (Pogo,Uproar,
Gamesville, etc....).  Everytime I try to play I get a mesage that says
Microsoft Internet Explorert has Encountere a problem.  
Apparantly this problem has to do with jpiexp32.dll.  That I believe is Java

Up until now, I've had no trouble playing audio CD's in the CD drive.
But no more. The disc spins but nothing from the speakers. I've tested the
speakers and they're definately working. Furthermore, going to sound
troubleshooter and clicking on this problem gets me a blank page!
