I have a Windows 98 machine which I've set up to be dedicated to run a single program every time it boots. To get the best startup and memory usage performance from it I've modified SYSTEM.INI so that the shell entry points to this program instead of Explorer.exe.

I installed cyberlink multimedia pack from a cd which came with my new dvd drive (an emprex), Why did I install it? Don't know!!! Now every time I boot up, a window with cyberlink as a title appears on the desktop and I have to close it.

Yesterday I tried to access a recently opened document from the Documents option on the start menu, but found that my recenly opened documents history is no longer updating. Any clues how I can diagnose and correct the problem?

I'm trying to fix another problem resolved by: http://support.microsoft.com/default.aspx?scid=KB;EN-US;q229070 The instructions indicate to: Right-click Start, click Explore, and then click drive C.

Helo folks, I had win 98 and i had the help working ok, I loaded win98se and now i do not have the help, only the indexes. To clarifi, when i go into the help section i get all the subjects and such, but when it should go to the answer

After uninstalling and reinstalling a program I have discovered that when I click on Programs I no longer have the Accessories option. I would appreciate suggestions for restoring Accessories. Thanks, Alton Aiken

When trying to reload win98se i get a message that there is not enough memory for scansdisk. I am only using a fraction of my hard drive memory. What can I check?

I setup Win98 from MS-DOS but in DOS I cannot FDISK to FAT32, the default is FAT16. So am I supposed to use Drive Converter from System Tools? Is this the normal way to setup Win98 on a clean drive? What if I install WinXP? Do I do that from MS-DOS or is that a totally different ...
