Fiddling with my fathers' old Dell Lattitude laptop I found gathering dust in

I have a Windows 98 machine which I've set up to be dedicated to run a
single program every time it boots. To get the best startup and memory usage
performance from it I've modified SYSTEM.INI so that the shell entry points
to this program instead of Explorer.exe.

I installed cyberlink multimedia pack from a cd which came with my new dvd
drive (an emprex), Why did I install it? Don't know!!!
Now every time I boot up, a window with cyberlink as a title appears on the
desktop and I have to close it.

option on the start menu, but found that my recenly opened documents history
is no longer updating.  Any clues how I can diagnose and correct the

Hello to all,
This morning I cleaned up my best friends computer, it had many
problems.
I have Fdisked it, Partitioned it, creating two new drives, C & D.

Helo folks,
I had win 98 and i had the help working ok, I loaded win98se and now i do
not have the help, only the indexes.  To clarifi, when i go into the help
section i get all the subjects and such, but when it should go to the answer

After uninstalling and reinstalling a program I have discovered that when I
click on Programs I no longer have the Accessories option. I would appreciate

When trying to reload win98se i get a message that there is not  enough
memory for scansdisk. I am only using a fraction of my hard drive memory.
What can I check?

I setup Win98 from MS-DOS but in DOS I cannot FDISK to FAT32, the default is
FAT16. So am I supposed to use Drive Converter from System Tools? Is this
the normal way to setup Win98 on a clean drive? What if I install WinXP? Do

My son (11)  wants to know how to record from a radio station.  
Says the kids at school do it --  say it's easy.   But don't say how
in terms comprehensible to him/me/us.
