I thought I saw something related to this recently here. Is it possible to set up my Win98se laptop so that when I connect my external hard drive it is always assigned to the same drive letter and my cd burner as well? Normally my external drive goes to "E" and my cd burner to "F." ...

hi all.... I just rebuilt a couple of old socket 7 mbs and did a fresh install of 98SE. Both are now networked with another comp running XP home and the networking part itself is working fine. One of the 98SE machines asks for a network login pw before the machine completes
